If you are like me, you have a full pantry. If you like to cook you sometimes have two of your go to cooking items. Since I had so much of these items, I tended to use the best expiration date first and then ended up having to throw out a ton of stuff. This made me really upset with myself!
I started a pantry list on my phone just in the notes section. This really helped but if I didn’t look at it weekly, I was still wasting stuff. My husband has always given me a hard time about wasting food. It became an ongoing joke between us. I started setting stuff that had expired by the backdoor kind of hiding it so he wouldn’t be able to make fun of me. I guess he was fed up because he was unbeknownst to me starting to research pantry apps for me. He came up with the pantrycheck app. This app has saved me but don’t let him know that haha! This app does take time to set up but once your items are in there it gives you notifications like this item is going to expire in two months. The app itself is free up to 200 items. Then they have different storage plans. I chose to purchase the plan for one year for $11.99 that allows you to have in the app 2,000 items. I chose this because I plan to do more with the app. You can set up all sorts of lists. Like the Garage, refrigerator, freezer even your closet can be set up. I am starting out with pantry and refrigerator. It also allows you to set up a list with your own title. I did this for the food in my earthquake box. That way I’m not wasting the items in there too. So far, this app is working out great for someone like me who is not able to keep up with the stuff I purchase, hahaha!
